Interidentity is a project devoted to analyze the emergence of biological, psychological and social identity and individuality as a result of interactions. Within the project, our group is responsible for analyzing the emergence of identity and social autonomy out of techno-political processes such as networked collective action. The result of this work is our study Multitudinous identities: a qualitative and network analysis of the 15M collective identity.

 

The project is led by IAS-Research, Center for Life, Mind, and Society and is funded by the CSIC. The main objective of the project is to question the essentialist approach, which treats identity and individuality as fixed facts, starting from the detailed study of how (id)entities are generated and transformed in the biological, cognitive and social sphere, in particular, how they emerge from and vary through interaction. The project combines a descriptive and naturalistic approach, that explains the ontological dimension, with a normative one, that aims at evaluating the adaptive, cognitive, ethical, ecological, and social consequences of the naturalized concepts.
